Baby Shower Card No. 2

Well this is my punishment for sort of procrastinating maybe just a little bit. The photo turned out sorry! I had very little time to make this card this morning. Yes I waited until this morning. So I was in a big hurry to get a picture before I had to leave for the shower. And it was very cloudy and gray outside and inside. So I ended up taking a picture of the card laying in the window sill and hoping for the best. I know I said I was going to work on this but….Sorry!

The card looked soooooo much better than this photo.

But let me tell you I just LOVE my new Nestabilities. They are just too cool. Now I have to decide how I am going to store them because they are just stuck to the card they come on. I have seen lots of neat ideas but I’m not sure which one is going to work best from me. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear from you! I need all the help I can get.

Now I have to go make something so I can use my new pens. I guess I need to check my calendar and see who is coming up on the birthday list. I did just get Stampin’ Up!’s Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set. Maybe I’ll make something with it or maybe the Sock Monkey. He has been sitting in my stamp room all alone doing nothing. Well he’s not really alone. He probably has…no I’m not going to say how many friends he has in there. I don’t think I want to face that right now.

I hope you liked the baby card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Upsy Daisy

This is a card I made for a home workshop. I CASE’d it from the Stampin’ Up! Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book and Catalog. See page 101. I made the card late the night before the workshop. That was before I stopped procrastinating. The card was really simple and I knew they all would love doing the embossing so away I go to the workshop. So we are making cards and we get to this one and I put my sample (this exact card) on the little gold thing you see in the picture and as I set it down I look at the left side of the card and see the smudges where I moved the stamp when I was making the card. I thought I was going to die. My face must of turned red because they asked what was wrong. So I told them. They consoled me by telling me that it was fine and that you really can’t tell. Yeah, right. I’m supposed the be teaching them how to stamp and they are telling me my sloppy card looks great. So much for being professional.

But that’s not the important thing. What’s going on with the eyes is what I’m worrying about. My teeth are falling out (OK being pulled out) are my eyeballs gonna fall out next? Well I am sitting here looking at my computer screen through a pair of glasses, the kind you get at Target or Walgreen’s. The eye doctor told me a couple of years ago that my eyes were fine they were just getting old. He sent me to the store to get the glasses. By the way I’m looking for a new eye doctor. Not because he sent me to the store to get glasses but because I think he said I was old.

More Flower Power

OK The very first thing I want to do is apologize for the horrible lighting on these cards. I tried to fix it I just didn’t know how. Everything I did made things worse. I promise to work on this issue.

Cross my heart!

There is not really a lot to say about these two cards because I just plain copied them.  I followed the directions on the sheet that came with Simply Sent Card Elements Kit. Now how easy is that. Well I did add a little bling to the top card. I added a brad from the Filigree Assortment and a crystal from my stash.  And the sentiment on both cards is from Birthday Whimsy. I use that Happy Birthday stamp a lot. I like it.

And that is it! You should try it. The kits are fabulously easy. You can find the Flower Power Card Elements Kit on page 176 of the 2008 Fall-Winter Idea Book and Catalog.

Lovely As A Tree

This card was made from the same sketch as my last post. Sketch# 89 on cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ . I needed a masculine looking card for one of my home workshops. So I used my trusty masculine looking Lovely As A Tree stamp set!

I inked the tree image stamp with my markers then stamped in on the whisper white card stock but it just seemed too something. So I used the blender pen to soften the image just a bit and then it was just right.

Zoofari

I am a determined individual. I’m still sticking to my resolutions. Yes, I am. I am posting another card from the recent past that just never got posted. But that’s all different now! Yes it is! Do I sound pumped or what?

OK OK Enough goofing around! Let’s get down to business.

This card was CASE’D from a Christmas card that Beate Johns made. You can see her card at beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/10/24/chaos-in-the-johns-house/

I needed a card for a child but I REALLY liked her card so I decided to give it a try. I think it adapted well.

And I basically just followed her directions. They were really good directions, too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year! 2009

I hope everyone had a great and safe New Year’s Eve!

I know today is full of all kind of resolutions that people make and don’t keep. I have never been one to make a list but I always think of something I’m going to try to do better. And that’s it. That’s as far as it goes. But this year I am really going to try to do two things. And I hope those two things will make every part of my life better.

1. Get Organized!

2. Stop Procrastinating!

I think if I can do these two things everything else should fall into place. Right. Right? Tell me yes. Please! Sorry about that. I didn’t mean to get crazy on you but I need some support here. So one of the first things I’m going to do is show you all of the cards that I have made and taken pictures of but haven’t posted because I was trying be seasonal or catch up on all the things that I have put off or SOMETHING. And I am going to do it right now BEFORE I go and finsh everything else I have going right now.

This is the anniversary card I made for my husband in 2008. I thought it turned out rather nicely. I got the inspiration for this card from a Stampin’ Success magazine (one of the perks of being a demonstrator) and the Fall-Winter catalog page 85. It went together quickly because I used a Simply Scrappin’ Kit. Those things are great when you need quick. Although that is not going to be me anymore.

Organized and On Time.

That’s me now! Organized could be my middle name.

OK. I’ll quit.

I hope you have a wonderful 2009. I plan to. Check back soon. Even if it’s just to check on me to see if I’m keeping my resolutions. Thank you to all of you that have stopped by my blog in 2008. It’s been exciting to see how many people take a look. It’s almost been a year. I look forward to 2009 bringing more blogging fun!

My Christmas Cards

I found the battery charger…charged the battery…mailed the Christmas cards…took the pictures…and now I am sitting in front of the fireplace enjoying the fire and the quiet. It’s so quiet, I think something might be wrong. No, my son is a sleep and my husband is at work. It’s just quiet. Been a very long time. Hmmm. The phone is ringing. Just a minute….my husband….WHAT? WHEN?…your kidding? Right? No. OK. Sorry about that. That was my husband telling me all this leisurely time I thought I had for the next couple of days doesn’t exist. I thought all I had to do until Christmas Day was cook a couple of side dishes and make a couple of desserts. Just relax and enjoy because as you know I finished my Christmas cards. BUT NO, he just knocked a day off of my time line. I have to do everything tomorrow. I knew it was just too quiet. Too good to be true. You know they say if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

The stocking card is the Christmas card I sent to all of my friends and family.

This card and the last one are ones we made at my last workshop.

The Let It Snow card is cased from the Stampin’ Up! Fall-Winter Catalog 2008 page 40.

I hope you like the cards. Thanks for stopping by.

Deer Friends

This card was so easy but I think it turned out great. It was one of the cards from my last home workshop. All of the ladies just loved it.

And I can’t say it enough, I love my Big Shot Die Cut machine. Whether you are cutting or embossing, it is amazing. Anyway, back to the card.

I got the inspiration for this card from Nancy Riley. You can see her card at  stampinat6213.blogspot.com/2008/11/scs-featured-stamper-challenge-fs92.html

The photo I took does not do it justice. It was really cloudy here today and I was trying to get by just using the light from the window. I tried to fix it but my Photoshop skills are not the greatest. That’s what happens when you try to take shortcuts. Sorry!

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Treats!!!

For the record, I finished these treats in an amazingly short time. I had to make about 40. But with the Big Shot and the Pillow Box die cut it was a breeze. I stamped a background  on 8 1/2 X 11 card stock and cut each piece in quarters. Then I ran each one through my Big Shot using the Pillow Box die. I folded them and adhered the long side with Sticky Strip. I tied a piece of grosgrain ribbon around it and tied a knot. The Batty For You image was stamped on Whisper White card stock and punched out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. Then I adhered that to a scallop circle. Then that was adhered to the front of the box. That was just plain quick. Then I was looking at the picture I took and I could tell why it was so quick. The stamped images on two of the boxes is blurred. So now I’m panicking. I can’t take something like that to the school for all of those people to see. So I start going through all forty and to my amazement the only two that are blurry are the two I took a picture of. So now I am thinking everything is OK. Then I start thinking OH THAT’S JUST GREAT! The only two that are blurry are the two that are on the INTERNET. So now I’m thinking that maybe I need to stop thinking OR I need to …..as my husband would say "Just Chill". So now that I have chilled, on to bigger and better things. Below the supplies for the pillow boxes are pictures of the baskets I made for the teachers.

I thought they turned out really cute. I used the Basket & Blooms Die Cut from Stampin’ Up!  and the Ghosts #2 Die cut from Sizzix. I had to make ten of these and they were really quick, too.

I know it’s a little late for using any of these ideas. But I am doing better.  I’m NOT posting these things a week AFTER Halloween.

It’s late and I have a long day tomorrow! It’s starting with the Character Book Parade at the Kindergarten Center and will be ending with our Halloween Party! So, I’m going to run. I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween. No matter what you do or don’t do. Thanks for stopping by!
