Completely CASED Congratulations Card

Before I say anything about my card, I want to let everyone know I’m sad to say this card idea is NOT my own. It belongs to Stampin’ Up! Consultant Patricia Giesbrecht in Canada. I tried to find her website so I could send traffic her way but was unable to find it. If anyone knows what it is, if you send it my way, I’ll add it to this post.
I was in need of a special congratulations card a few weeks ago and I was flipping through the June Stampin’ Success (the great monthly magazine you receive when you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator) when I saw this card on page 13 and knew it was perfect. Also as the procrastinator that I am, but trying hard not to be, I did not have much time. I looked at the list of supplies and I had almost everything. So I said to myself this is perfect.
I can take no credit for anything on this card except for the fact that I assembled it. Now for all of you that are going to look at their June Stampin’ Success, my card may not look quite as good as hers but I thought it came out pretty good. Now for the photography, not even close. I used the same color papers she did but I could not get them to look right in the photo. My camera was acting up badly that day. I thought it was broken but it turned out some setting was wrong. I wonder how that happened? Thank goodness it wasn’t broken. I really didn’t want to get a new camera right now. There are so many other things I can think of that I want.

In Color Birthday Cupcake

Good Morning Everyone!
I hope everyone’s morning is as beautiful as mine is. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping. I’m drinking a cup a coffee and the house is quiet. Everyone’s still asleep. It’s way too QUIET. I think it’s time for them to get up. Well maybe not just yet.
OK to the point! I made this birthday card from the retiring In Colors. The inspiration came from page 40 of the Spring-Summer Idea book. I love Stampin’ Up! Idea Books. They are always there to get me started when I have no ideas of my own. OK so that’s most of the time. But I do try.
I did use a lot of different things to make this card but it was fun and still easy. And so no one is confused like I am today. The cupcake is not Stampin’ Up!. The Big Bold Birthday cupcake from the stamp set on page 40 was not quite big enough so I opted for a different cupcake. By the way, if you have been looking at that set, you only have until the end of June to purchase it. It is on the retiring list along with this years In Colors.
To make the "6", I traced a chipboard 6 on Pacific Point card stock and cut it out. I tried covering the chipboard 6 with the glitter pen I used for the spots on the cupcake and then covering it with clear embossing powder. It turned out really sparkly and so NOT the right color so I had to back up and punt. That happens to me a lot!
Have a great day!

Clearly Thanks Window Sheets

Hi Everyone! Before I get started I want to apologize for the watermark. It’s huge and I have not figured out what I have done to it. It used to be small. Photoshop 6 is great but I do not really know how to use it very well. But I will not give up.
If you don’t recognize the pink paper, it is from the retired Petals & Paisleys DSP. I warned you that it would be appearing again. I just hope you don’t get sick of it. It won’t all be used for cards though. I plan to use some of it on scrapbook pages.
This card was super duper easy. I mean really easy. I cut a card base out of Whisper White card stock. This card opens on the side. I don’t make a lot of cards this way but it was going to be easier to just tie the ribbon around the card. I cut the printed paper the same size as the card base. The strip at the bottom is not a separate piece, it’s part of the paper. I adhered it to the card base. Then I cut the window sheet with the leaves on it the same size as the card front. Which was a fourth of the Clearly Thanks window sheet. Then I adhered that to the card front.
The butterfly die cut was left over from the teachers gifts the other day. I put the half pearls and the white thingys on it. I’m absolutely sure the thingys have a technical name but I am positively sure I don’t know what it is. OK now that I have cleared that up. Next I adhered the butterfly with a dimensional, attached the small flower over one of the leaves and put a jewel in the center. Then I attached the brads, tied the ribbon and it was done.
Now for a regular person that probably would have taken about 15 minutes. But for a creativity impaired person like myself it might take a little longer. And I confess it did take a little longer. I had to get the idea first. That is the part that takes a really long time for me. Then I had to start making the card. Then I had to make lunch, convince my son that he didn’t have to scream every time he gets in the pool with his dad, get the screamer ice cream after he swam, remove a splinter from the swimmer, soothe the splinter patient, get the patient ice for his toe, throw the ice away because it was cold and THEN I finished the card. So I would say it came in a little under 3 hours. Thank goodness because I had a dead line. If you are laughing, you should be ashamed of yourself. I wouldn’t laugh at you if it took you a little longer to make a card.
A lot of energy was involved in making this card.
I hope you like it.

Spring Is In The Air…Sort of
OK, so I made it out from all of that paper and stuff in my stamp room. I’m not finished cleaning it up yet but then I wonder if I’ll ever be. Why does all of the stuff from the rest of the house have to go in my stamp room? I found myself asking that question over and over and over and over again.
So once I found my stamping table, I was able to make this birthday card for one of my friends. After I finished it, I tried and tried to get a picture of it. I took it outside, inside and back outside. It was beautiful outside, too. But nothing would work. Anyway, I was a bit frustrated so I just stuck it in the top of some flowers my husband brought home the other evening and this is what I got.

It’s not quite as sharp as it is in person and you can’t see all the little sparkly glitter but I’ll tell you about it and you can use your imagination.
I traced the little white dotted lines on the DSP with my clear glitter pen and the round dots under the Happy Birthday sentiment are covered with clear Glaze pen. Can’t you just see it!
It really does look really cute and I finally got to use my Tulipe Die. It’s just soooo pretty and elegant. When it came out, I just had to have it but it just never seems to fit on any of those boy cards I have to make.
Well, I’ve got to go. I hope you like the card!

Loads of Love WSC #68
OK, this is the last Valentine’s Day card. It turned out a little girly. But like I said in the last post I ran out of time so this is what he got. He is only five so he didn’t really care. It had hearts on it. That was good enough. He’s so sweet he wouldn’t say anything anyway.
I made this card using Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #68 .
I like using sketches. It seems to take a load off of my brain. I don’t think my brain was made for creating. It starts to smoke after only a short time of creating. And that’s not really fair because I really enjoy creating.
Oh, well. That’s the way the cookie crumbles.

Well, I’m off to clean something…there are so many things to clean I’m not sure where I’ll be starting but I do know that my craft room looks like the aftermath of a Category 5 hurricane so I’ll be in there somewhere. If I don’t post anything for a long time have someone come looking for me. I may be stuck under a pile of paper or stamp sets.

The Day After
I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to make my post last night. Too much Valentine’s Day fun. So I’m going to post them now. One will be in a seperate post because I made it using a challenge I saw. That way it will be easy to find. Now for the first two..and these will be the only Valentines you see from me. I am going to try to move forward…just move on! And just so you will know this is not all my fault. There was some procrastination on my part BUT since I have snoopy people checking my blog to see what their cards are going to look like (I wish everyone was so snoopy!) I had to wait.

I could never get comfortable with this card. It felt like it was missing something but I ran out of time so I had to go with it.
Stamps: Boatloads of Love
Inks: Basic Black, Pacific Point
Papers: Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point, Whisper White card stock
Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon, Real Red brads, Nestabilities, Stampin’ Dimensionals, blender pen, Spica glitter pen
And this card gave me fits like you wouldn’t believe. I knew what I wanted it to look like but it just wouldn’t go there. This was the last card I had to make and I worked on it up to the last minute. Literally.
Oh, by the way this card was made out scraps except the card base. I had so many of those heart squares from the valentine’s for the kids, I just had to make something with them.

Don’t forget to check out the next post for my last Valentine’s Day card

OK! Get ready! Set! Go!
I have so many things to do this morning but I said I was going to post these pictures. So I am! I’ll update with all the supplies later! And the Valentine’s cards…well I can’t post them yet. Everybody is starting to look and see if they can see their card on my blog before I give it to them. So that will have to wait until this evening. After we have our Valentine’s Dinner.
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

Hand Drawn Bundle Birthday

I made this card for one of my neighbors son’s birthday. He turned 10. Another hard one for me. I always keep my fingers crossed that they don’t look too girly. Ugh! But I think it turned out good. I used card sketch #102 from CPS to make this card BUT I actually used one of the CPS Designers cards as my inspiration. Are you confused? Stacey Kingman made a card for this sketch and I just loved it so I used her card as my inspiration. You can see it here . It’s the There’s No One Like You card. Thank you, Stacey!
It’s hard to tell but I used one of my new glitter pens on the cupcake. It didn’t show up on the picture but the cupcake is really sparkly!
